The Night before a Blizzard on Tennyson

I’ve lived on Tennyson for 3 years now and I have never seen such a collective force of vibrant energy the night before a snowstorm.

Summers are the best of Tennyson, but when everyone knows a cold front is coming, especially one that includes several inches of snow, the whole community throws on their coats, beanies, and boots and gets their food orders set. The road lights shine brighter, voices are warmer, and the whole street becomes a unique grouping of friends, neighbors, and lovers.

Every local restaurant becomes a place of gathering and every store becomes a place to gather last-minute survivors or sale items that could wait till after the blizzard, but why not now?

Dogs are wagging their tales, children and running to warm up, and cars swoosh by with the heater on full blast.

I get to watch it all like I’m outside a snowglobe. I watch it from my apartment window, in awe with such a great sight. I feel a part of it, even when I am on the other side. Tennyson, keep being the nucleus of love, hope, and warmth before any storm.
